Meet the team
Ecofashion is a social enterprise that is committed to running a hybrid business model with core values of doing good for society, environment as well as making profit for the company. Our business is directly related to saving the environment and human life through the eradication of plastic waste pollution and currently each of our three management members are people who are naturally passionate about the environment.
We are a highly collaborative and supportive team coming together on every project to deliver our core mandate of spreading ecofriendly culture and contributing the eradication of plastic waste pollution ad its associate problems
Problem space
Over 1.7 million tons of plastic waste is generated in Ghana annually. Less than 2% is recycled. The rest are burnt, or end up on beaches, streets and drainage systems causing annual floods that claim lives and property. Our founder’s family was a victim of such floods in 2013.
Aside from the fact that there are a limited number of companies in Ghana to transform plastic waste into new products, our market research also revealed that the average Ghanaian does not understand and is not conscious of the problem of plastic waste pollution. The average Ghanaian does not understand that their ‘little’ contributions such as littering and indiscriminate dumping of refuse into drainage systems adds up to cause annual floods that claim lives and property. On many occasions, our team members have come across people throw plastics openly on the ground after drinking water or eating and when they prompted culprits, they asked the team members if the place was their house. People take plastic bags for every little and single thing they buy, and even find it offensive if they buy something and the seller does not give them a plastic bag. This creates so much plastic waste that is either burnt or dumped indiscriminately to pollute the environment and cause other problems for us.
Our Mission
To continuously keep plastic waste in the form of products that are useful to people through upcycling of plastics and repairing/remodeling products customers buy from us when they become old or damaged and to nurture the next generation of eco-conscious individuals

Nature seeks expression through us and demands that we contribute in whatever way we can to protect mother earth for the next generation after us to also have a safe place to live.
